Dell PowerEdge R640 Server Overview
The Dell PowerEdge R640 is a dual-socket,1U compact server that combines, performance, density and scalability to make as useful as possible for application performance and data center density.
It is powered by Two Intel Xeon Processor Scalable Family processors and supports 8 x 2.5 inch hard drives or 4 x 3.5 inch hard drives on the front panel with up to 8 NVMe SSD max 58TB or up to 4 x 3.5 SAS/SATA HDD max 40TB, or 10 x 2.5 inch hard drives on the front panel with SAS/SATA (HDD/SSD) with optional support for 2 X 2.5 inch hard drives on the back panel with up to 2 x 2.5” SAS/SATA (HDD/SSD), NVMe SSD max 12TB.
This server supports 1.5TB max RAM at the speed of 2666MT/s in 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, supports RDIMM /LRDIMM, and Up to 12 NVDIMM with 192 GB Max memory.
