The Dell PowerVault MD3800i 10GbE iSCSI array in an easy to manage 12-bay, 2U chassis combines high-speed performance with business continuity.
The MD3800i SAN is designed to scale as the application needs grow by offering support for up to 64 host servers and up to 8Gb cache per controller.
The Dell PowerVault MD3800i has additional PowerVault options like Snapshots, Self-encrypting drives (SEDs), Remote Replication, Virtual Disk Copy (VDC), and Instant Secure Erase. These additional PowerVault features help to keep valuable information safe.
The PowerVault MD3800i has been engineered to maximize performance in a highly available solution by including RAID controllers within the storage device. Dell PowerVault MD3800i arrays single or dual active controller models. Dual-controller configurations has either a 4GB or 8GB cache per controller
The Dell PowerVault MD3800i provide support up to twelve 3.5 inch SAS hot-swappable hard drives or 2.5” SAS, near-line SAS, and SSD drives for a high scalability.
The PowerVault MD3800i supports up to 64 host servers with 10GB iSCSI Ethernet connectivity and up to 8Gb cache per controller, to satisfy the growing business application needs.
The advanced MD Storage Manager software is an intuitive client-based Java application designed for easy system management and helps to monitor multiple arrays through a single interface.
Configuration tips: The Dell PowerVault MD3800i can expand beyond 120 drive base configuration to 192 drives by attached to the PowerVault MD1200 or MD1220 expansion enclosures.
Dynamic Disk Pools (DDP) in PowerVault MD3800i arrays can support up to 1024TB of storage data in up to 20 disk pools with support up to 120 SSD drives for simplified data management and improved storage efficiencies with self-healing dynamic disk rebalancing
Workloads: For most demanding, large data workloads in manufacturing industries like oil/gas, healthcare, or video surveillance and virtualized application environments with Microsoft® Hyper-V® software and VMware® ESX.
