Dell PowerVault MD1220 Storage Overview
The Dell™ PowerVault™ MD1220 direct-attached storage array is the energy efficient, second generation, 2.5-inch drive, small form factor (SFF) expansion enclosure with the performance to satisfy demanding single- server applications.
This expansion array features 24, 2.5-inch SAS hard disk drives (HDDs) or solid-state drives (SSDs) in a 2U array and can be expanded up to 8 arrays per PERC H800 adapter
With support for both high-performance SAS and high-capacity economical SATA drives, the MD1220 is an excellent choice for tiered storage.
The PowerVault MD1220 supports SAS 2.0 technology that enables double the throughput over last generation storages.
The PowerVault MD1220 is also exceptionally scalable, with a capacity of up to 24TB per enclosure, and has the ability to daisy chain up to 4 enclosures per PERC H800 or up to 8 enclosures per PERC H800 (4 enclosures per port, single path) with redundancy for increased fault tolerance.
