Dell EMC PowerEdge rack servers designed mainly for building a modern infrastructure to reduce IT challenges and drives business success.The Dell powerEdge R740 rack server is specially built for workload acceleration with accelerator cards and storage scalability.
This server supports up to 24 DDR4 DIMM slots, Supports RDIMM /LRDIMM, registered ECC DDR4 DIMMs with speeds up to 2667 and 3TB of maximum RAM.The Dell Power Edge R 740 also supports up to 12 NVDIMM, 192 GB of Maximum memory. The NVDIMM-N improves the database performance by10 times.
This general purpose 2-socket, 2U platform server houses up to two Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with up to 28 cores per processor which delivers 27% rise in processing cores and 50% rise in bandwidth over the last generation of Xeon processors.
The R740 can support six 150W GPUs or three 300W GPUs for adapting to any application virtually and offers the perfect choice for VDI deployments.
The Dell Power Edge R740 houses 16 2.5” drives or 8 3.5” drives loaded in the front drive bays and iDRAC9 to meet demands and simplify the entire IT lifecycle
Configuration tips: Three 300W GPU’s configured in Dell Power Edge R740 for VDI deployments can support up to 50% more users than Dell Power Edge R730. Using internal M.2 SSDs can free up storage space when optimized for boot.
